Bulldozer’s Back Story
Barb and I were the best of friends. We grew up at a dwarven mining post in the north. Our fathers mined together while we played together. We were inseparable. So, when Barb came up with the crazy idea of visiting a human city on our own, I said yes.
We lived very insular lives before. The human city was very overwhelming to take in. We found ourselves in a tavern and we met a variety of folks. A peculiar man with a hood approached us with an opportunity we couldn’t resist: a chance to make a name for ourselves and earn treasure to boot.
This led us to a cave. Within the cave was a monster and if we destroyed him, we would gain glory and all his treasure, or so the hooded man said. In hindsight, it does seem rather foolish we went on this endeavor. But, we were young, naive and excited to explore the new world before us. We had experienced fighting odd cave creatures back home, but none could have prepared us for what we encountered in that cave.
Barb was the first to go down. I watched in horror as the creature slowly drained the life from her body. I was utterly terrified.
I ran.
I ran out the cave to the sounds of Barb’s wailing and her screams of my name.
I’ll never forget the look of anguish and horror on her face as I left her to die on her own.
